Abu Dhabi [UAE], October 6th (ANI): Harshal Patel and Dan Christian starred with the ball as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) capped the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to score 141/7 in their 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) bout here at the Zayed Wednesday the Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Harshal Patel pushed aside three wickets while Dan Christian and George Garton returned with two and one respectively. Yuzvendra Chahal also bagged a wicket. Jason Roy and Kane Williamson played innings 44 and 31 respectively when SRH’s middle-tier hitters failed to bet after such a good start.
Put first, SRH got off to a horror start when they lost the first game in the second over. George Garton struck to send Abhishek Sharma back to the pavilion for 13 out of 10. Kane Williamson then joined Jason Roy on the pitch and the duo began rebuilding for SRH. After the first power play, the team in orange had 50 points on board with a one wicket loss.
Roy and Williamson continued to mix caution in the middle overs while SRH ran to 81/1 after 11 overs in the innings. In the twelfth over, Harshal Patel struck to give RCB a much needed twist as he removed the SRH skipper. Kane Williamson returned after scoring 31 of 29 balls.
Dan Christian then broke SRH’s backbone in the 15th over, removing Priyam Garg and dangerous-looking Jason Roy in his spell. Priyam Garg returned after scoring 15 while Jason Roy superbly played 44 out of 38 balls.
Wickets continued to fall in love with SRH as Yuzvendra Chahal fired Abdul Samad in the subsequent over. Wriddhiman Saha’s tenure was interrupted by Harshal Patel in the 18th over.
In the last two overs of the innings, SRH collected 11 points and lost a wicket in the form of Jason Holder.
